Obtaining a temporary residence permit (TRP)

Who can apply for a TRP?
The legislation stipulates three main categories:
- citizens from countries listed in Executive Order No. 702 of the President of the Russian Federation, 'On Providing Humanitarian Support to Individuals Sharing Traditional Russian Spiritual and Moral Values’
- within the quota set by the government
- outside the quota for individuals with special grounds, such as being married to a Russian citizen, having Russian roots, born in the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR), investing in Russia, etc.
